Long story short:
Due to life experiences, I had put myself in a bad financial situation by my mid 20's. Divorce, starting over, credit card debt, student loans, medical bills, no job.
In 2018, I originally inquired about bankruptcy. The lawyer at that time told me it would take 6 months to file for Chapter 13. He also told me to stop paying my bills. I did what he said and I thought things were moving forward. After a few months, that lawyer made me nervous about filing and I had decided to withdraw from any type of bankruptcy. By this time, I was delinquent on almost all accounts.
Fast forward to 2021....
I get an aggressive knock on my door at 7am from a random guy stating I'm being sued from a collections agency for not paying off one of my credit cards. I was so freaked out. I really am good person and work full-time now, I do pay my rent on time and my car and I am staying on top of things moving forward. Just some of my finances from my past, well, I realized I can't run away from it anymore.
At that very moment I knew I had to make a change, especially with all the changes that happened in 2020. I contacted Hallaq Law and they were so nice on the phone. I told them my situation and they were so personable and friendly. They were interested in my case and met with me same day. We sat and talked about my options and they did not pressure me one way or another. I was so shocked to find out my bankruptcy was only going to take 30 days AND they were able to take care of pretty much everything. The biggest thing for me was to not lose my apartment and car. They said I can keep my apartment and car, I was so happy and they explained everything to me in detail what was happening. They told me some dates to look out for and they have been in personal contact with me during this process.

Filing for bankruptcy has been a burden on me since I inquired about it in 2018 and honestly it was the hardest decision I've ever had to make. I should have pursued my bankruptcy with Hallaq Law along time ago. I'm glad I met them and I will be using them for everything!
